This session will be an informative presentation concerning recent legislation adopted by the NC General Assembly pertaining to Firefighter Cancer. The requirements and benefits will be discussed. Also, general cancer information will be provided, including Best Practices regarding Cancer in the Fire Service. There will be information discussed that reduces the risk of cancer for firefighters, including decontamination protocols. The Lavender Ribbon Report authored by the IAFC/VCOS and the NVFC will be covered in this presentation as well. The target audience is firefighters and officers at all levels. There will be time provided for questions and answers at the end of the presentation.
